About the position

The Account Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth for Waste Pro through targeted prospecting, business development, and relationship building. This role involves utilizing consultative selling skills to understand client needs and working collaboratively with internal teams to meet client expectations and close deals. The Account Executive will engage with customers in various industries, including commercial and residential construction, to identify and secure new accounts while maintaining existing relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Implement established prospecting and sales procedures to create and finalize sales prospects.
  • Analyze potential clients' organizational setup, personnel, and current suppliers.
  • Foster connections with top-tier executives within designated accounts to comprehend their business requirements.
  • Utilize CRM software for the management of prospective client lists within specific geographic and industry segments.
  • Participate in partnership with Regional and Corporate Sales Managers in developing short and long-term strategic Market and Sales Planning.
  • Meet or exceed sales call activity goals for new sales.
  • Develop a strong customer base and call on prospective customers by phone or in-person visits.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct communication and solicitation of feedback.
  • Drive acquisition, retention, and renewal of contracts by developing and maintaining critical relationships with customers and decision-makers.
  • Prepare winning proposals using industry knowledge and competition insights.
  • Collaborate with corporate sales, marketing, and regional management to develop bid and RFP submittal packages.
  • Interface with WP executives, managers, associates, and customers to target opportunities and pursue leads aggressively.
  • Assist in closing contracts through negotiation, competitive pricing, and adherence to sales strategy.
  • Initiate billing and contract audits in partnership with finance and regional management.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • AS/BA/BS degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of sales/marketing/business development experience within the Waste Services Industry, particularly in the Commercial Sales Sector.
  • 1+ years of progressive sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply consultative and solutions-based selling skills.
  • Experience in negotiation, bid responses, contract management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in sales generation, customer interaction, presentation, negotiation, account management, and sales closure.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to honesty and integrity.
  • Basic understanding of sales automation technology and proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PPT, and Excel.
  • Experience in developing strategies to increase sales volumes and manage costs.
  • Knowledge of the Waste Industry and external forces influencing client buying decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving, market research, financial analysis, pricing, and client relationship management skills.
