About the position

The Sales Account Executive at Nexstar Broadcasting is responsible for generating advertising revenue through established and new client relationships. This role focuses on promoting television advertising by making sales calls, preparing presentations, and developing advertising schedules with clients. The position aims to consistently grow revenue and exceed sales goals while maintaining strong relationships within the local business community.

Responsibilities

• Generate advertising revenue by calling on established agencies and cold-calling new prospects.
• Convince potential clients of the merits of television advertising.
• Implement strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
• Establish credible relationships with the local business community.
• Make sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
• Maintain assigned accounts and develop new accounts.
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients.
• Explain how specific types of advertising will help promote clients' products or services effectively.
• Provide clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
• Develop advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
• Work with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Minimum one year's experience in sales, preferably in the media field.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
