About the position

The Account Executive position at Carnegie Learning is a key role within the outside sales team, focusing on the educational sales industry. This role involves developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with school districts and key stakeholders, executing sales campaigns, and providing high-quality customer support. The Account Executive will work closely with K-12 educators and collaborate with various departments to promote Carnegie Learning's products and services, while also achieving sales goals and expanding market penetration.

Responsibilities

  • Attain and surpass sales goals by building customer relationships and maintaining market penetration.
  • Create and execute marketing and strategic territory plans with excellent organization and follow-through.
  • Identify and maximize client opportunities, promoting the value of Carnegie Learning educational products and services.
  • Review market analyses, monitor competitive activity, and proactively identify customer needs.
  • Regularly call on district and school leadership to deliver sales presentations and identify opportunities for relationship expansion.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement customized educational solutions that support client strategies and needs.
  • Prepare and present recommendations to district or school leadership aligned with client expectations.
  • Negotiate agreements for services, programs, and pricing within assigned account base.
  • Maintain high customer service levels within assigned account base.
  • Work remotely while traveling up to 75% of the time, including overnight stays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education; Master's degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in education, business development, and strategic account management.
  • Consultative sales experience in Education Publishing/Ed Tech.
  • Experience developing and selling complex value propositions.
  • Experience with leveraging SalesForce.com to guide day-to-day activities preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful consultative, business-to-business sales or related experience.
  • Strong research skills and ability to identify client needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and persuasively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and cultures.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organized with strong planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to navigate politically through an organization to interact with key decision makers.
  • Strong professional presence and ability to present to C-level decision makers.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and programs, including Microsoft Office Suite.
