About the position

The Sales account executive will be responsible for assisting the sales director in identifying key sales opportunities within a customer base to include all channels with a focus on leading the grocery channel but will assist where needed. Responsibilities include working directly with retailers and brokers partners to learn/understand their needs while continuing to grow the grocery channel with focus on profitability. Additionally, building a plan to identify new customer opportunities and assist the Sales Director in the development, implementation and monitoring of sales strategies for all brands and accounts where needed. The individual will possess the drive and passion to access, develop, and implement all aspects of the annual sales plan in support of organizational strategy and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain good relationships with customer accounts, including negotiating and closing agreements with large retailers.
  • Assist Sales Director with developing short term and long-range strategies, plans, and budgets based on corporate sales goals and growth objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with the company's goals, understanding market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Identify new opportunities while bolstering and improving relationships within the Grocery channel to grow sales.
  • Work with Sales Director to establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales goals for broker network.
  • Assist Sales Operations with identifying and communicating key trends that show risks in specific product SKUs, and assist in reporting customer display activity and/or needs.
  • Educate executive management team on important developments and trends that can affect the business.
  • Assist the Sales Director in building and implementing strategic growth initiatives.
  • Create sales presentations with regards to information, sales data, and content.
  • Identify consumer gaps for innovations through data, consumer insights, and market research.
  • Provide Finance with ROI analysis and reporting against planned business partner activities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of sales experience (preferably in a CPG environment).
  • Experience managing a national customer and/or wholesaler/distributor.
  • Experience in the Grocery Channel, Kroger preferred.
  • Career skills with influential selling and customer management.
  • Capability in working with forecasts management, reporting, and creating customer sales presentations.
  • Understanding of financial spreadsheets and business plans.
  • Experience working within a small, fast-paced, tight-knit, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong individual contributor capable of operating without large support staffs.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of meeting and/or exceeding expectations.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and process/metric management capabilities.
  • Team player with recognized collaboration and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to build relationships, present ideas, and lead people to support business goals.
