About the position

The Account Executive at Axios will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth for Axios Locals by engaging with both new and existing partners. This position focuses on leveraging various products, including native content, email marketing, and events, to enhance advertising revenue. The role requires a proactive approach to networking and relationship-building within local markets, acting as a brand ambassador and fostering strategic partnerships with local agencies and clients.

Responsibilities

• Work with new and existing partners to grow Axios Locals' revenue.
• Act as a brand ambassador for specific Axios Local markets.
• Proactively network across assigned markets to create new opportunities.
• Develop and maintain trusted, strategic relationships with local agencies and client partners.
• Generate leads through a mix of outbound sales strategies and nurturing existing client relationships.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in sales, specifically in the digital media/news industry.
• Strong track record in growing existing business and developing new business for local advertising or digital media clients.
• Relationships and familiarity with local/regional advertisers and agencies in the assigned territory.
• Comfortable with a mix of outbound sales strategy and nurturing inbound leads.
• Knowledge of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios' competitive landscape.
• Highly collaborative with a proven track record of forming strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
