About the position

The Sales Account Executive at WJTV in Jackson, MS, is responsible for generating advertising revenue through established and new client relationships. This role focuses on both television and digital advertising, aiming to grow sales volume and exceed revenue goals while maintaining strong connections with the local business community.

Responsibilities

  • Generate advertising revenue by calling on established agencies and cold-calling new prospects.
  • Develop and increase sales volume for both TV and digital revenue.
  • Implement strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
  • Establish credible relationships with the local business community.
  • Prospect, qualify, close, and grow new business.
  • Make sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintain assigned accounts and develop new accounts.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients.
  • Learn and implement new strategies and products.
  • Explain to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services effectively.
  • Provide clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
  • Develop advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
  • Work with creative services in the production of client's creative elements for both broadcast and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Handle order entry, contracts, follow-up, and collections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in sales, preferably in the media field.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing basics (Google/Facebook, etc.) preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $35,000 - $50,000 with potential earnings exceeding $100,000.
