About the position

The Account Executive position at Energy Systems Group is focused on generating new business within the public sector, particularly in the renewable energy industry. This role involves a consultative sales approach to develop leads and build relationships with utility and public sector clients, ultimately leading to new revenue opportunities. The Account Executive will work closely with both internal teams and external clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions, while also being responsible for financial proposal development and maintaining customer relationships throughout the installation process.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business through various channels including trade shows, publications, and cold calls.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including trends and opportunities.
  • Cultivate effective business relationships and communicate the full scope of solutions to meet customer goals.
  • Maintain open communication with customers to understand their needs and ensure solutions align with their objectives.
  • Meet activity and results standards, including sales targets and gross margin goals.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals that address customer needs, including financial proposals.
  • Maintain customer contact throughout the installation period to address any additional needs or concerns.
  • Monitor account plan progress, including market conditions and competitive activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Five or more years of industry experience selling large solutions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Highly effective sales negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to compose and write proposals, reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
