About the position

The Account Management Representative I at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) is responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 40 to 50 accounts. This role involves collaborating with clients, brokers, and internal teams to address claims, servicing, and billing issues. The representative will also support sales and account management efforts in acquiring and renewing business, conducting research, maintaining databases, preparing reports, and participating in enrollment sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a book of business consisting of approximately 40 - 50 accounts.
  • Assist clients, brokers, and internal partners with claims, servicing, and billing issues.
  • Support Sales or Account Management personnel in prospecting, acquiring, or renewing business.
  • Conduct research on inquiries and gather information for proposals.
  • Maintain databases and prepare reports.
  • Conduct analysis and assist in enrollment sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 1 year of experience in health insurance/health care field in a service, sales, or marketing position.
  • State Insurance License(s) or ability to obtain within required time frame.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.

Nice-to-haves

  • Health insurance/health care experience.
  • Proven success in presenting information to stakeholders and shareholders.
  • Familiarization with handling billing issues.
