About the position

The Account Manager at Boise Cascade Company is responsible for marketing and outside sales of a diverse range of products and services to dealer accounts. This role emphasizes building strong customer relationships through personal contact, developing sales strategies, and providing promotional support. The Account Manager will also address customer issues, maintain knowledge of competitor products, and ensure a commitment to safety and quality in all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform marketing and outside sales of products and services to dealer accounts through personal customer contact.
  • Travel through assigned territory to quote prices and conduct sales presentations.
  • Develop sales strategies and product promotions.
  • Resolve customer issues, respond to complaints, and provide claims service.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products.
  • Manage territory/customers for profitable results.
  • Provide promotional and merchandising support to customers in support of vendors.
  • Develop promotions and administer co-op.
  • Provide training to customers, customer associates, and contractors.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or with teams/groups.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comprehensive knowledge of building materials and product lines.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in related job function.
