About the position

The Account Manager Client Services role at Optum is focused on generating new business leads within the Life Sciences sector, including pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries. This position involves collaborating with internal teams to influence the sales pipeline, executing outreach strategies, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role is essential for supporting the growth of the Life Sciences division and improving health outcomes through effective client engagement and solution presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential clients and key decision-makers within the life sciences industry.
  • Generate new business leads through various channels, including cold calls, email campaigns, and networking events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients to understand their needs and pain points.
  • Effectively communicate Optum Life Sciences' value proposition and solutions to potential clients.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to showcase our Data solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Manage and update the sales pipeline to ensure accurate tracking of leads and opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development or a related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency in using CRM software and sales tools, preferably Salesforce.
  • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM local time from Monday - Friday.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a business development or sales role, preferably within the life sciences or healthcare sector.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Experience with Marketing Automation Tools.
  • Experience with Segmentation Tools.
  • Understanding of the healthcare landscape and industry trends.
