About the position

The Account Manager position at ADM involves developing long-term relationships with grain producers to secure supply chains essential for feeding the world's growing population. This role includes managing a portfolio of up to 500 core customers, focusing on both sales and origination efforts within a specified geographic territory. The Account Manager will be responsible for understanding customer operations, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and executing regional programs to enhance business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and maintain relationships with transactional and traditional producer accounts.
  • Earn the right to buy grain from producers in the territory, with a volume expectation of 4-8M bushels.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the customer's operation related to grain marketing and logistics.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within ADM's portfolio to benefit producers.
  • Execute and support regional Regen Ag programs, including data management and technology adoption.
  • Develop market opinions to inform producers of market opportunities.
  • Network to build collaborative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions.
  • Engage with accounting and administrative staff for timely and accurate contract management.
  • Communicate competitive advantages and vulnerabilities to key internal stakeholders.
  • Support local and regional business objectives and operate as a Peer Leader.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in account management or sales.
  • Ability to evaluate and manage risk with producer accounts.
  • Experience in leading professional sales/origination calls with customers and prospects.
  • Self-starter with a commitment to territory planning and efficient execution.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of grain markets and production agriculture.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in business or agriculture.
  • Experience with technology applications critical to sales and origination activities.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
