About the position

As an Assistant Account Manager in our Commercial Lines Select Business Unit, you will play a crucial role in supporting Producers and Account Managers in servicing assigned accounts. This position is based in our Midlothian, VA office and offers the potential for hybrid work. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts. This includes quoting, applications, invoicing, policies, certificates of insurance, endorsements, proposals for renewal accounts, change requests, audits, and annual review preparation. You will also be involved in the renewal preparation process, providing quality customer service to clients, and maintaining accurate data in our agency management system. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential as you handle various tasks, including responding to customer inquiries and documenting conversations with clients and carrier representatives. Responsibilities

  • Prepares and coordinates all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts.
  • Handles quoting, applications, invoicing, policies, certificates of insurance, endorsements, proposals for renewal accounts, change requests, audits, and annual review preparation.
  • Participates in the renewal preparation process, generating renewal updates on accounts specified by the Producer.
  • Provides quality customer service to clients, team members, and carriers.
  • Reviews policies and endorsements for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepares policies for delivery to clients.
  • Communicates with company personnel regarding the client's needs and/or issues.
  • Maintains an accurate suspense system on all items that require a response.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives.
  • Maintains the accuracy of data in the agency management system.
  • May handle collections of premiums due.
  • Conducts business in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of both the business and earnings implications of the Company.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

  • One to two years of small commercial lines insurance experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets.
  • Property and Casualty Insurance license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; AA and/or college degree preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems.
  • Mastery of virtual technology, including meeting scheduling, video display, and screen sharing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High level attention to detail is essential.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
