About the position

The Account Manager - Commercial Lines at McGriff is responsible for supporting Producers and Marketing Account Executives by marketing and servicing new and renewal business. This role involves maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives, ensuring knowledge of applicable coverages, carrier guidelines, and legislative changes. The Account Manager will handle client inquiries, manage the renewal process, and provide administrative support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain key client and carrier relationships by phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist assigned clients and teammates with service questions related to administration, billing, claims issues, and problem solving.
  • Work with Producer and/or Marketing Account Executive to monitor and manage the renewal process for assigned clients.
  • Provide analysis and recommendation of coverage needs to present to clients.
  • Coordinate meetings with clients and/or producers to present renewals and supporting documents.
  • Prepare marketing information or provide required information to a marketing person.
  • Schedule and conduct teammate meetings in coordination with Marketing Account Executive or Producer.
  • Prepare and deliver all applicable forms to clients.
  • Become proficient in client management systems to update policies, log activities, and manage follow-ups.
  • Provide administrative support on other tasks as they arise, such as special projects and development of new ideas/services.
  • Attend seminars, classes, and carrier meetings to stay updated on new products and legislative changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • Two years of relevant insurance industry experience.
  • Appropriate insurance license(s).
  • Strong client relations skills, including excellent communication skills and service orientation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree.
  • Certification in field of endeavor.
  • Experience with Requests for Proposal.
