The Account Manager for Commercial Lines at HUB International is responsible for managing a book of insurance business primarily in Modesto, CA, while providing exceptional service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. This role requires a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making, as the Account Manager navigates complex risks and exposures. The position supports Producers and other support staff in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business, ensuring that clients receive tailored insurance solutions that meet their needs. The Account Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to HUB's best practices and standard procedures, ultimately contributing to a high rate of account retention. In this role, the Account Manager will oversee the preparation and implementation of transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts. This includes acting as a backup for other support staff members when necessary. The Account Manager will also acquire a deep understanding of clients' insurance objectives, critically analyze and compare insurance plans, and coordinate the implementation of the client's strategic plan. Key responsibilities include performing value-added services such as Pre-Renewal Strategic Planning, Risk ID Assessments, Contract Reviews, Claims Reviews, Market Analysis, and more. The Account Manager will act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated service issues, negotiate with underwriters, and troubleshoot claims and billing issues. Additionally, the Account Manager will identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling HUB products and services, manage client meetings, maintain accurate account files, prepare reports and proposals, and stay informed about changes in the insurance industry. This position also involves mentoring and training less experienced Account Managers and Assistant Account Managers, providing high-level support to Sales staff, and performing other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
