About the position

The Account Manager role at Virtus is a pivotal position within the Commercial team, responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery to clients. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing day-to-day operations and client interactions. The Account Manager acts as a key player in the client success team, facilitating the insurance renewal process and addressing client needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives to deliver exceptional service for a large book of business.
  • Manage client insurance renewal processes including submission building, marketing, and brokering of insurance policies.
  • Negotiate insurance placement with carrier partners and prepare proposals and coverage analyses.
  • Prepare premium allocations and invoices, ensuring documentation and data entry into various systems.
  • Lead midterm client services including endorsement requests, pricing indications for new acquisitions, and midterm marketing efforts.
  • Address coverage-related questions from clients in a timely manner and oversee preparation of Summary of Insurance/Schedule of Insurance.
  • Review carrier-issued loss control recommendations and work with the Client Account Specialist to deliver and track them for completion.
  • Update the Working SOV upon binding coverage and manage day-to-day client service needs.
  • Cross-sell Virtus' services as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or related field and/or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Property and Casualty broking required.
  • Exceptional knowledge and skill with Microsoft software applications (Excel) and Agency Management Systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a commitment to impeccable customer service.
  • Ability to utilize all resources available to resolve client inquiries and insurance-related issues.
  • Solid knowledge of major insurance coverages and premium rating methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior account management experience with complex insurance programs.
  • CPCU or other insurance or professional designation.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Prior public speaking experience and the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Experience evaluating and placing management liability, cyber, and professional liability.
  • Active P & C Producer License.
