About the position

As the Account Manager for Corporate Sales at Core-Mark, you will be responsible for nurturing existing account relationships and developing new ones to drive strategic sales growth. This role involves utilizing insights and tools to ensure effective product ordering, promoting product programs, and exceeding sales goals. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to influence and understand the competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering new customer information and creating opening orders.
  • Verifying that all procedures, service changes, and system modifications have been communicated and applied to customer accounts.
  • Monitoring aged inventory and developing strategies with customers and distribution centers.
  • Collecting information to set up new items for customers.
  • Managing customer accounts using Core-Mark proprietary systems.
  • Maintaining recurring reports for customers, directors, distribution centers, and VPs.
  • Collaborating with the Account Director to evaluate changes in customer needs.
  • Building rapport with all members of the assigned accounts team.
  • Managing promotional activity and ensuring timely product shipment to stores.
  • Monitoring fill rates and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Communicating developments within assigned accounts across Core-Mark.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of work experience in customer management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word).
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to mine data and construct metrics.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan and perform responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Experience coordinating and overseeing multiple projects concurrently.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of work experience in customer management.
  • Industry-specific account management proficiencies.
