About the position

The Account Manager for the Department of Defense (DoD) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for driving cloud transformation and adoption within the DoD. This role involves engaging with key customers, systems integrators, and solutions providers to promote AWS services and build a strong business relationship. The Account Manager will leverage their technical and sales expertise to identify opportunities, manage customer interactions, and ensure satisfaction while contributing to the growth of AWS in the defense sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a growing book of business as part of a sales team.
  • Drive business and technical relationships and close business by helping to define, identify, and pursue key opportunities.
  • Establish deep business and technical relationships through knowledge of the customer's mission and environment.
  • Engage in day-to-day interactions with customers and the extended account team.
  • Utilize a sales and technical background to manage a high volume of activity and establish credibility with decision makers.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of existing and developing technologies related to cloud computing and identify opportunities for customers.
  • Manage time efficiently, meet personal goals, and collaborate effectively with other sales and marketing team members.
  • Work with partners to extend reach and drive adoption of AWS services.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certification (Cloud Technologist, Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer)
  • Knowledge of existing and developing technologies
  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce and web-based meeting applications
