About the position

The Account Manager, Downstream North America at BASF is responsible for managing accounts within the Plastic Additives team, focusing on commercial and business development activities. This role involves executing customer strategies, cultivating relationships with key accounts, and ensuring growth in volume, revenue, and margins. The position requires collaboration with various internal teams to enhance customer experience and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Execute regional and global customer strategies to facilitate sustainable growth in the downstream sector of the plastic additives market.
  • Manage customer interfaces and cultivate strategic relationships for regional and global downstream customer accounts.
  • Utilize key tools such as Salesforce, SAP, and APO forecasting to assist with decision-making.
  • Leverage relationships across regions to ensure cohesive communication among global key accounts.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of long-term operational and financial forecasts.
  • Communicate sales forecast requirements with the Supply Chain organization during the S&OP process.
  • Monitor market conditions and competitive activities to support key business decisions.
  • Ensure a strong pricing strategy in alignment with market conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of related sales experience.
