About the position

The Account Manager plays a crucial role in providing customer service by addressing day-to-day inquiries and problem-solving for clients' insurance needs. This position involves collaborating with various team members to deliver effective insurance and risk management services, ensuring strong business relationships with insurance carriers, and maintaining accurate client information in compliance with company procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate client information to provide day-to-day client support and address intermediate-level client inquiries.
  • Assists in the development of strong business relationships with appropriate insurance carrier personnel.
  • Recognizes and satisfies carrier goals and objectives to enhance business relationships.
  • Assists in completion and processing of applications.
  • Supports client retention by maintaining a positive relationship and image with clients and their employees.
  • Maintains all client information in accordance with both company procedures and HIPAA regulations.
  • Follows company procedures in order to achieve positive audit results.
  • Supports maintenance of agency management system, communication system, and other tools.
  • Leverages technical knowledge to ensure carrier quotes are received in a timely fashion; reviews quotes for gaps and assists with inquiries from the carrier.
  • Updates BenefitPoint in a timely manner including updates to ongoing activity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Life and health License preferred.
  • Working knowledge of available employee benefits coverages based on business and industry.
  • Proficient in providing client service through electronic, telephone, and in-person interaction.
  • Problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of Agency Management software, or demonstrated skill at quickly learning new systems.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office or similar software, including spreadsheet and presentation software.
