About The Position

The Account Manager for Employee Benefits at CBIZ is responsible for providing exceptional service delivery to a designated block of clients, primarily focusing on employer/group clients. This role involves resolving customer service issues, building strong relationships, and acting as the primary point of contact for clients. The Account Manager will coordinate with internal teams to implement client systems, manage ongoing service needs, and ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures. Additionally, the position requires participation in client meetings and communication regarding relevant legislation and market trends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 to 5 years of customer service experience in the insurance industry required.
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to the field of expertise.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide service delivery to an assigned block of clients.
  • Resolve moderately complex customer service problems directly.
  • Act as a dedicated resource for assigned accounts with direct client contact.
  • Build relationships with employer/group clients and serve as the primary point of contact.
  • Represent clients internally and coordinate with other functions to implement client systems.
  • Escalate client concerns when appropriate.
  • Assist client services management in conducting client meetings as needed.
  • Input data into proper software for vendors/carriers/clients within the required timeframe.
  • Coordinate employee communications for enrollment.
  • Participate in new client set-up, renewals, and open enrollment meetings.
  • Establish and preserve a solid business rapport with clients and vendors.
  • Discuss applicable legislation and market trends with clients.
  • Ensure that all internal controls and procedures are followed.
  • Generate client interest in additional lines of coverage.
  • May provide guidance and direction to less experienced client service staff.
