About the position

As an Account Manager at Trane Technologies, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships to maximize revenue through account penetration. This role involves generating new customers, retaining existing ones, and selling the company's HVAC products to end-users. You will work remotely from Chattanooga, TN, and play a key role in executing business plans, managing sales pipelines, and building strong partnerships within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Generate budgeted sales and manage pricing to achieve margin goals.
  • Develop and execute account-specific business plans for long-term partnerships.
  • Build strong relationships with existing customers at all levels.
  • Cold-call to develop a new customer base within the assigned territory.
  • Determine and arrange training to meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of products, sales processes, and market competition.
  • Manage a pipeline of existing opportunities and leverage market segmentation resources.
  • Build relationships with utilities, builders, and industry associations.
  • Ensure customer participation in Trane programs and expand market penetration.
  • Identify customer problems and create action plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with inside sales teams and distribution for complete customer coverage.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful experience in Business Development and Sales.
  • Experience in HVAC or related industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in consultative selling and relationship management.
  • Solid proficiency in business and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data into actionable plans.
  • Knowledge of HVAC products and systems applications is preferred.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer usage, especially Microsoft Office.
  • CRM/SaleForce experience is preferred.
