About the position

The Account Manager position at EJ Welch involves overseeing sales activities and developing relationships with current customers while sourcing and growing new accounts in the Kansas City area. This remote role requires in-person management of accounts and aims to enhance business growth through successful, long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow current accounts by building close customer relationships.
  • Actively recruit, research, and win new potential accounts to the business.
  • Organize local account training with product/vendor reps and support.
  • Attend internal meetings and events to understand and drive the overall objectives of the region.
  • Attend regional flooring vendor industry events and national sales events for E. J. Welch.
  • Research and provide competitive insights to the region, both price, product and vendor assortment.
  • Collaborate with regional branch and sales managers on market intelligence, local inventories, customer strategy and overall product placements.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' field sales experience, with flooring sales experience a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal and negotiation skills, with ability to manage time and prioritize sales opportunities.
