About the position

The Account Manager I position at NBT Insurance involves managing small business accounts with a focus on customer service and sales. The role requires acting as an advocate for customers, ensuring their insurance needs are met while collaborating with the Business Development Manager and/or Producer to identify coverage gaps. The position emphasizes adherence to departmental procedures to maintain customer satisfaction and may involve some travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform or oversee all key servicing aspects of assigned small business accounts, including new business and renewal submissions, coverage review and analysis, proposals, policy changes, and timely delivery of policy documents.
• Identify small business customer issues or concerns by listening and clarifying comments, researching system files, and providing accurate responses regarding existing coverage levels.
• Participate in routine department and agency meetings, providing feedback and suggestions to enhance customer experience and overall efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree and 3 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Property & Casualty Broker's license and/or Life, Accident, and Health license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and business writing skills.
• Ability to effectively handle diverse customers and express empathy and concern.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to analyze limited data, research problems, and make sound decisions.
