About the position

This advanced sales role at Lumen is focused on generating new sales and enhancing brand awareness within a designated territory. The position is primarily desk-based with limited field engagement, targeting new logo acquisition and development through effective sales and prospecting strategies. The role also involves mentoring peers and newer team members as needed, contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Desk-based prospecting, selling, and account management into assigned customer accounts, meeting monthly sales quotas.
  • Proactively solve sales challenges and customer obstacles.
  • Deliver a strong value proposition during consultative and transactional selling approaches to maximize sales revenue.
  • Prospect and qualify leads through various channels including calls, emails, social media, and internal marketing campaigns.
  • Prepare agendas for customer calls, conduct effective meetings, and identify opportunities from each sales interaction.
  • Engage internal resources and support personnel to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Leverage the broader sales resource ecosystem to drive high-impact opportunities.
  • Work with urgency through all aspects of the sales cycle until closing.
  • Maintain updated sales stages and accurate notes in Salesforce.com, creating and maintaining account plans as required.
  • Provide activity reports and accurately forecast monthly sales volume.
  • Attend assigned meetings and participate in all company training requirements.
  • Mentor teammates and lead by example with a strong attitude and high energy.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of sales experience.
  • Experience selling similar products and solutions.
  • Experience selling telecom/telecom solutions.
  • Advanced sales experience in a similar desk-based or inside/outside role.
  • History of developing new accounts and opening new sales territories is a plus.
  • Ability to conduct efficient sales calls or web-conferences.
  • Prepared, organized, and planned approach to daily business pursuits.
  • Persuasive selling and prospecting skills, including cold calling and social media outreach.
  • Effective relationship-building skills and positive communication.
  • Team player, coachable, results-oriented, and able to work well under challenges.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce/CRM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a senior sales role or mentoring capacity.
  • Familiarity with the Lumen product portfolio.
