About the position

The Account Manager II - Inside at Lumen is a pivotal role focused on driving revenue growth within small to medium-sized customer accounts. This position emphasizes the importance of building long-term, consultative relationships with clients, leveraging technology to facilitate sales processes rather than traditional in-person interactions. The Account Manager II will be tasked with deepening and expanding the relationship between Lumen and its named accounts, ensuring that revenue is maximized while minimizing account churn. In this role, the Account Manager II will be responsible for protecting base revenue and meeting or exceeding growth quotas. This involves identifying key decision-makers within customer organizations, understanding their needs, and proposing appropriate solutions that align with those needs. The Account Manager will also assess product fit and work to expand the product portfolio offered to customers, ensuring that they receive the best possible solutions for their requirements. Additionally, the Account Manager II will maintain accurate and relevant customer information, which includes updating sales funnel activity, opportunity updates, and the maintenance of monthly goals, customer proposals, and contracts. Providing superior customer service is a critical aspect of this role, as every interaction with customers is an opportunity to strengthen relationships and drive further business.

Responsibilities

  • Protect base revenue and meet/exceed growth quota to maximize revenue within assigned customer accounts.

  • Update relevant customer information, including sales funnel activity and opportunity updates.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • 2 years of sales experience.
  • Prior account management experience with a history of retaining and growing existing accounts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and closing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
