About the position

The Account Manager II - Inside is a pivotal role at Lumen, responsible for driving revenue growth within small to medium-sized customer accounts. This position emphasizes the importance of building long-term, consultative relationships with clients, primarily through technology rather than in-person interactions. The Account Manager II will focus on deepening and expanding relationships with named accounts to maximize revenue and minimize account churn. This involves understanding customer needs, identifying decision-makers, and positioning appropriate solutions to meet those needs. The role requires a proactive approach to customer engagement, ensuring that all interactions are geared towards providing superior customer service and maintaining a strong sales funnel. Additionally, the Account Manager II is tasked with updating relevant customer information, including sales funnel activity, opportunity updates, and maintaining monthly goals, customer proposals, and contracts. This position is crucial for protecting base revenue and meeting or exceeding growth quotas within the assigned customer base.

Responsibilities

  • Protect base revenue and meet/exceed growth quota to maximize revenue within assigned customer accounts.
  • Identify decision makers and determine customer needs to position appropriate solutions.
  • Assess product fit and expand the product portfolio through customer relationships.
  • Update relevant customer information, including sales funnel activity and opportunity updates.
  • Provide superior customer service with every customer interaction.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent education and 2 years sales experience.
  • Prior account management experience with a history of working to retain and grow existing accounts.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical problem solving and closing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated stable track record of success in an inside/outside sales role.
  • Advanced understanding of technology products and solutions and knowledge of how they are interrelated.
  • Passion for customer service and the desire to understand and introduce new technology to customer base.
  • Ability to function in an unscripted capacity, requiring solid interviewing, selling, and persuasion skills.
