About the position

The Account Manager III at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. plays a crucial role in the sales team, focusing on driving sales and fostering relationships with key accounts. This position requires a dynamic and collaborative approach to meet the organization's long-term sales and profit goals, particularly within the Microbiology portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and effectively use the Sales Methodology framework strategy in line with the organization's long-term sales and profit goals.
  • Communicate the value of doing business with Thermo Fisher Scientific as a total solution partner that speaks directly to the customer's value proposition.
  • Develop strong major account relationships at all levels of management to grow sales of MBD product lines in the assigned territory.
  • Develop a territory business plan and a key account strategy for each major account assigned, monitoring and reporting progress regularly.
  • Align strategy with other Groups and Divisions in Thermo Fisher Scientific through regular contact and interaction.
  • Understand competitive positions and tactics within accounts, maintaining strategies to oppose and mitigate competitive threats.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with customers.
  • Collaborate with essential team members to develop and implement timely contract launches and renewals.
  • Champion Sales Force.com to manage customer data and leads, profile accounts, communicate opportunities, and manage the pipeline accurately and timely.
  • Accurately, efficiently, and promptly submit reports and manage expenses.
  • Demonstrate and role model the 4-I values to guide decisions and interactions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Business, or related field essential or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in a relevant industry preferred.
  • Technical strength and demonstrated ability to navigate the Microbiology portfolio or similar.
  • Understand and demonstrate the necessity for sales planning and execution using standard sales tools (e.g. Sales Force.com) to drive commercial operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
