The Account Manager role at Panasonic Corporation of North America is a dynamic position focused on servicing multiple accounts related to Panasonic's Process Automation Software. In this role, the Account Manager will support the sales strategy to grow and increase market share for Panasonic's Process Automation Software products and services across the assigned territory. This involves working directly with Panasonic software sales partners, Regional Sales Managers, customers, and prospects. The focus will be on solution selling, collaborating with various Panasonic teams such as Pre-sales, Machine Sales, Digital Solution Centers, Partnerships, and Post-sales to enhance deal strength. The Account Manager will prepare sales proposal decks and present them to both internal and external customers, ensuring a deep understanding of customer business requirements and pain points to effectively position the appropriate software functionality and drive sales to closure. The role also requires the development of effective relationships with key customer contacts to create demand that aligns with their business initiatives, leading to upsell opportunities. The Account Manager will be responsible for building a sales pipeline, presenting accurate forecasts, and leading the software sales process while supporting colleagues in delivering solutions until project closure. Participation in trade shows and industry associations is also expected, along with a commitment to self-development in areas such as interpersonal communications, negotiations, account management, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales strategy to grow and increase market share of Panasonic's Process Automation Software products and services across the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with Panasonic software sales partners, Regional Sales Managers, customers, and prospects to enhance deal strength.
  • Prepare sales proposal decks and present to internal and external customers.
  • Understand customer business requirements and pain points to position appropriate software functionality and drive sales to close.
  • Develop effective relationships with key customer contacts to create demand and support their key business initiatives.
  • Develop sales plans that support division objectives for sales, market-share, and competitive account penetration.
  • Build a sales pipeline and present accurate forecasts leading to closed revenue and quota attainment.
  • Lead the software sales process and support Panasonic colleagues in delivering the solution until project closure.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry associations.
  • Commit to self-development in interpersonal communications, negotiations, account management, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3 years of industry-specific experience in SMT and/or manufacturing software/consultative selling.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • College degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field required.
  • Knowledge of computer languages or tools such as Java, HTML, XSLT, database, HTTP, TCP/IP is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with SMT Manufacturing processes, equipment, MES Software, or related software solutions is highly desired.
  • Experience in quality control, process management, continuous improvement, and project management is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of Panasonic SMT equipment is highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Postgraduate education is welcome but not required.
  • Ability to create and present presentations to high-level internal/external contacts.
  • Expert sales acumen including qualification, discovery, quoting, negotiation, closing, and expansion.
