About the position

The Account Manager for Native Nations at Esri is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with tribal customers, leveraging geospatial technology to address their unique challenges. This role involves understanding customer needs, developing location strategies, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize the adoption of Esri technology. The position requires a customer-oriented individual who can effectively communicate the value of GIS solutions and drive business growth within the Native Nations sector.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with tribal organizations and develop location strategies.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of business growth opportunities for new and existing customers.
  • Leverage social media and other avenues to build a professional network.
  • Participate and present at trade shows, workshops, and seminars.
  • Demonstrate industry knowledge relevant to GIS applications.
  • Identify key stakeholders and business drivers for organizations.
  • Understand customer budgeting and acquisition processes.
  • Use solution selling skills to address customer needs and challenges.
  • Articulate the strength and value of Esri technology in relation to the industry.
  • Conduct research and pursue professional development to anticipate customer needs.
  • Execute account management and sales processes for all opportunities.
  • Support visual storytelling and propose solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with teams across Esri to define and execute account strategies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of enterprise sales and/or relevant consulting or program management experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in or supporting the federal government
  • Experience creating partnerships and establishing trust with customers
  • Understanding of account management, account planning, and opportunity strategy creation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tribal organizations and technology trends
  • Ability to negotiate, present, and support visual storytelling across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time
  • Bachelor's in GIS, business administration, or a related field

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of GIS, Esri technology, and tribal lines of business
  • Experience managing the sales cycle
  • General knowledge of data science or spatial analysis
  • Knowledge of industry fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cycles
