The ideal candidate for the Account Manager - Outside Sales position must be located in the Northeastern region of the United States. This role is responsible for outside sales and services to existing customers and prospective clients within New England, which includes Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The Account Manager will maintain existing business and assist sales and/or marketing management to achieve new sales. This includes the creation and solicitation of price quotes and executing re-pricing actions for underperforming accounts when necessary. Key responsibilities include communicating with existing customers and managing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction. The Account Manager will maintain existing business by developing and presenting value propositions to existing customers. This role requires partnering with colleagues in functional areas such as Production, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and Logistics to provide the best customer service possible. The Account Manager will also interact with and assist sales managers and/or directors in achieving sales goals, create detailed price quotes, and deliver presentations to internal and external customers, along with samples and prototypes. Additionally, the role involves completing and updating sales-related paperwork and reporting systems, maintaining relationships with plants that service customers in the assigned territory, and may involve soliciting requests for quotes and executing re-pricing actions for underperforming accounts when necessary. The Account Manager may also interface with plants to determine lost and new customer opportunities, such as customer segments and value propositions, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of experience in outside sales/business development.
  • Possesses solid sales experience; industrial sales experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Possesses excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform cold customer calls and follow up on leads.
