About the position

The Account Manager/Outside Sales Representative role at Altec Industries involves generating new business and managing existing accounts within the Telecommunications Product Group. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service, excellent communication skills, and a passion for sales, particularly in heavy machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will leverage in-house training and technical sales support to effectively present solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business and ensure growth of existing accounts within the Telecommunications Product Group.
  • Assess potential applications of company products and offer solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Research and present reports to potential customers demonstrating the cost benefits of purchasing Altec products or services.
  • Provide technical training to clients and communicate customer feedback for future product development.
  • Utilize technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales.

Requirements

  • Four year Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least two years of successful outside sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL.
  • Strong communication and information processing skills required.
  • PC skills using spreadsheets, word processing, and other office management applications required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in selling heavy machinery and equipment such as dozers, cranes, or tractors.
  • Experience in Aircraft and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) sales.
