About the position

The Account Manager / Outside Sales Representative is responsible for servicing customers and developing sales within a designated territory. This role involves establishing new accounts, providing product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution. The position requires collaboration with store management and team members to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Service customers and develop sales in a designated territory.
  • Establish new accounts by discovering business opportunities and calling on new customers.
  • Provide product recommendations and application instructions.
  • Quote competitive pricing on coatings for various fields.
  • Place orders on behalf of customers and ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to understand their needs and identify business opportunities.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.
  • Complete all internal reporting in a timely manner with accurate information.
  • Communicate regularly with Regional Sales Management regarding account status and progress.
  • Encourage and develop a team culture with store team members.
  • Build strong relationships with external and internal partners.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to pass a background and MVR check.
  • Experience in territory management is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Commitment to ethical behavior and adherence to company policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with the paint industry is desired but not required.
  • Strong desire to achieve top results with a positive demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and close deals.
