About the position

The Account Manager / Outside Sales Representative at Spectrum Paint Company is responsible for servicing customers and developing sales within a designated territory. This role involves establishing new accounts, providing product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and follow-up. The position requires collaboration with store management and team members to meet customer needs and resolve any issues that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Service customers and develop sales in a designated territory.
  • Establish new accounts by discovering business opportunities and calling on new customers.
  • Provide product recommendations, application instructions, and competitive pricing quotes.
  • Place orders on behalf of customers and ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Collaborate with Store Manager and other employees to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to understand their needs and identify business opportunities.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.
  • Complete all internal reporting in a timely manner with accurate information.
  • Communicate regularly with Regional Sales Management regarding account status and progress.
  • Encourage and develop a team culture with store team members.
  • Build strong relationships with external and internal partners.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience in territory management is a plus.
  • Commitment to ethical behavior and adherence to company policies.
