About the position

The Outside Sales/Account Manager at Capital Rubber, a Singer Industrial Company, is responsible for generating new business opportunities and maintaining client relationships within the Fairfield, CA territory. This role focuses on achieving sales targets through effective communication, negotiation, and independent work, while also collaborating with the Inside Sales Team to develop quotes and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the 5 stages of the sales process to prospect, qualify, propose product/service plans, facilitate positive decisions, gain new accounts, and expand current accounts.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and financial goals established by the company.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on assigned and prospective customers to solicit orders and engage with customers in person or by phone.
  • Maintain and utilize key tools such as Pipeline, Call Reporting, and Open Order Reports.
  • Display and demonstrate products that meet the customer's application needs using catalog and marketing materials.
  • Work with the Inside Sales Team to develop quotes and prepare sales contracts for new orders.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on information from the Inside Sales Team and operational management.
  • Provide recommendations for inventory levels based on new business onboarded.
  • Coordinate customer training and become a trusted expert in fluid conveying and power transmission applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales or a similar role.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve effectively.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively without sacrificing quality.
  • Ownership of responsibilities and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Inquisitive nature with a desire to learn and grow with the company.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and in a collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
