About the position

Johnstone Supply is a distributor of heating and air conditioning equipment, parts, and supplies, serving the Nevada, Arizona, and Mississippi markets. We pride ourselves on customer service as we feel that is the backbone to success. As an Account Manager/Outside Sales representative, you will be responsible for finding and visiting customers, building relationships, and solving problems. Your role will involve turning problem-solving into sales and margins through persistent follow-up and closing skills. You will work directly under the Arizona Sales Manager, Kurt, who values both the exciting work we do and spending time with family, traveling, and hunting. In this position, you will spend a significant amount of time on the road in a company vehicle, visiting customers and negotiating large orders. When you are in the office, you will be based in one of our six branches in the Phoenix area, which are well-lit, modern buildings staffed with friendly employees. You will collaborate with counter and inside sales associates for day-to-day order taking and will have access to immediate support from colleagues and vendor representatives when needed. Responsibilities

  • Find and visit customers to build relationships and solve problems.
  • Turn problem-solving into sales and margins through persistent follow-up and closing skills.
  • Negotiate and write large orders while relying on counter/inside sales associates for day-to-day order taking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and vendor representatives to resolve issues and gain guidance when needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training in HVAC products and services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience, ideally in the HVAC industry (preferred but not necessary).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent planning skills.
  • Value-driven approach, focusing on customer needs rather than price.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the HVAC industry (3 years preferred).
  • Experience in outside sales (3 years preferred).
