About the position

The Outside Sales/Account Manager at Singer Industrial is responsible for driving sales and profitability by building and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role requires a proactive approach to generating new business opportunities and solving complex logistical and supply chain challenges for clients. The successful candidate will work closely with both inside sales and operations teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction, while also achieving established sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the 5 stages of the sales process to prospect, qualify, propose product/service plans, facilitate positive decisions, gain new accounts, and expand current accounts within the specified territory.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and financial goals established by the company.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on assigned and prospective customers to solicit orders and engage with customers in person or by phone.
  • Maintain and utilize key tools such as Pipeline, Call Reporting, and Open Order Reports.
  • Display and demonstrate products that meet the customer's application needs using catalog and marketing materials.
  • Work with the Inside Sales Team to develop quotes and prepare sales contracts for new orders.
  • Estimate date of delivery based on information gathered from Inside Sales Team, operational management, current demand on production, and delivery schedules.
  • Provide recommendations of inventory levels based upon new business onboarded.
  • Coordinate customer training.
  • Become a trusted expert in fluid conveying and power transmission applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Inquisitive, ability to learn on the job, and desire to grow with the company.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity as well as in a collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
