The Account Manager RE - II Acquisition role is pivotal in driving Regional Enterprise sales account development within a designated geographic territory. This position involves managing a moderately complex set of products and services, utilizing a variety of prospecting activities to identify and secure new sales opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a detailed weekly forecast of identified and proposed opportunities to meet or exceed sales quotas. In this role, the Account Manager will develop Regional Enterprise sales by identifying new sales opportunities with prospective enterprise customers headquartered in the region. This will involve cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submissions, and customer appointments. Building effective relationships internally is crucial, as the Account Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Sales Support, to support new account pursuits and enhance client sales strategies. The Account Manager will also be tasked with identifying, bidding on, negotiating, and closing new sales opportunities to meet established sales and revenue quotas. This includes providing comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new accounts. Additionally, the role requires the Account Manager to provide insights to sales management regarding trends and changes within customer organizations, making recommendations for future actions to improve the company's position with these customers. The position demands a significant amount of time—at least 50%—conducting sales activities outside of the office, emphasizing the need for a proactive and dynamic approach to sales.

Responsibilities

  • Providing accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements
  • Developing Regional Enterprise sales in the designated target market(s) by identifying new sales opportunities with prospective enterprise customers
  • Conducting cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submission, and customer appointments
  • Building effective relationships internally through cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving with partners
  • Identifying, bidding on, negotiating, and closing new sales opportunities to meet and exceed established sales and revenue quotas
  • Providing comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new accounts
  • Providing input to sales management about trends and changes within the customer's organization
  • Leveraging external networks to identify and recruit high performing talent
  • Managing indirect and/or alliance partner relationships to position customer solutions to acquisition prospects
  • Conducting at least 50% of time in sales activities outside of the office

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
  • 5-7+ years' experience using a solution-based sales methodology for enterprise technology services
  • Strong communication, written, and formal presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong business acumen and expert knowledge of Lumen's products, services, and solutions
  • Experience in hunting, prospecting, and new account development
  • Experience with Salesforce.com preferred
