About the position

The Regional Enterprise Sales role at Lumen is pivotal in driving account development within a designated geographic territory. This position is responsible for managing a moderately complex set of products and services, utilizing a variety of prospecting activities to identify and secure new sales opportunities. The successful candidate will engage in a range of activities including cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submissions, and customer appointments to develop enterprise sales in the target market. The role requires a strong focus on building effective relationships both internally and externally, collaborating with various partners such as Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Sales Support to enhance client sales strategies and support new account pursuits. In addition to developing new business, the Regional Enterprise Sales representative will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed weekly forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities to meet or exceed sales quotas. This includes identifying, bidding on, negotiating, and closing new sales opportunities, while also providing comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business. The role demands a proactive approach to understanding trends and changes within customer organizations, allowing for informed recommendations to improve the company's position with clients. Furthermore, the position requires leveraging an extensive external network to recruit high-performing talent and manage indirect and alliance partner relationships to position customer solutions effectively. The role is dynamic and requires at least 50% of the time to be spent conducting sales activities outside of the office, emphasizing the need for a candidate who is comfortable with a high level of mobility and engagement in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Providing accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements
  • Developing Regional Enterprise sales in the designated target market(s) by identifying new sales opportunities with prospective enterprise customers
  • Conducting cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submission, and customer appointments
  • Building effective relationships internally through cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving with partners
  • Identifying, bidding on, negotiating, and closing new sales opportunities to meet and exceed established sales and revenue quotas
  • Providing comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from new accounts
  • Providing input to sales management about trends and changes within the customer's organization
  • Leveraging external network to identify and recruit high performing talent to the team
  • Managing appropriate level of indirect and/or alliance partner relationships required to position customer solutions to acquisition prospects

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience
  • 5-7+ years' experience using a solution-based sales methodology for enterprise technology services
  • Demonstrated strong communication, written, and formal presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong business acumen and expert knowledge of Lumen's products, services, and solutions
  • Experience in hunting, prospecting, and new account development
  • Experience with Salesforce.com preferred
