About the position

The Account Manager Sales Trainee position at Etna Supply is designed for individuals eager to kickstart their sales career in the plumbing and distribution industry. This entry-level role involves comprehensive training across various departments to develop product knowledge and understand the company culture, ultimately preparing the trainee to become an effective Outside Salesperson. The program emphasizes customer service, order processing, and building business relationships, with progression based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Train in various departments to gain product knowledge and learn company culture.
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations by providing a positive customer experience.
  • Communicate with customers, outside Sales Representatives, and vendors via phone and email.
  • Receive and process orders for products, including typing orders and quotes within the system.
  • Prepare, post, and close work orders and projects as required.
  • Create job files and organize paperwork as needed.
  • Coordinate shipping of orders and materials with various departments.
  • Address billing issues or service complaints, referring them to designated departments for investigation.
  • Assist service counter customers by entering sales orders and expediting back orders.
  • Gather materials/products in the warehouse for customer pick-up within one hour of order printing.
  • Prevent shipping and inventory errors by verifying work accuracy.
  • Maintain and build business relationships with customers.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance and work safely.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience and training.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and training, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to achieve Powered Industrial Equipment operator's license.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; knowledge of Eclipse is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a professional image.
