About the position

As an Account Manager at Airgas, you will be responsible for selling welding products and industrial gases while fostering strong relationships with key accounts. This role involves advising customers on various products, managing a designated territory, and driving sales growth through effective customer engagement and pipeline management. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction, while also collaborating with internal teams to enhance customer profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Sell welding products and industrial gases.
  • Advise customers on tools, hardware, and safety equipment.
  • Drive sales growth and manage a designated territory.
  • Build strong relationships with branch personnel and managers.
  • Pursue and acquire new accounts with emphasis on gases and product supply agreements.
  • Handle customer inquiries related to billing, order status, and delivery.
  • Complete sales-related paperwork and annual sales analysis.
  • Schedule joint sales calls with vendors and product specialists.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of outside sales experience.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and customer focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and manage customer expectations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the gases, welding, or industrial supply industry.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in a B2B or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Experience in value-based selling.
  • Familiarity with consignment and PSA contracts.
  • Knowledge of the North Washington territory or similar regions.
