About the position

The Account Manager, Technical Sales at FARO is responsible for driving sales growth in the manufacturing sector, specifically focusing on FARO's 3D Metrology portfolio. This role involves managing customer relationships, performing product demonstrations, and identifying sales opportunities within the assigned territory of Los Angeles, Riverside, Anaheim, and Pasadena, California. The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various internal resources to close sales effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Generate sales revenues by performing product demonstrations at customer sites or through web-based capabilities.
  • Evaluate customer requirements including installation location, mounting requirements, engineering drawings, CAD data, GD&T, and inspection plans.
  • Identify additional sales opportunities outside of traditional channels.
  • Utilize resources such as sales management, Inside Sales Specialists, and Applications Engineers to advance and close sales.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to generate ideas for sales opportunities, processes, and systems.
  • Provide feedback to FARO R&D for product improvement.
  • Act as the point of contact and provide technical support to potential customers during the evaluation period.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of proven and successful track record in sales of Capital Equipment/Industrial Sales.
  • Knowledge of CAD.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
