About the position

The Account Manager for Transport at Hitachi Energy is a seasoned sales professional responsible for building and expanding relationships with strategically important Transport customers. This role involves achieving sales targets, managing pipelines, and ensuring customer satisfaction while representing the full range of products and services offered by Hitachi Energy. The Account Manager will lead account planning cycles and work closely with various stakeholders to meet customer needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of sales strategies for accounts by providing insights into the customer's current business and long-term plans.
  • Defines and proposes sales targets and growth margins for accounts, ensuring achievement through structured follow-up processes.
  • Leads the development and implementation of account plans, including executive relationship strategies and coverage plans.
  • Establishes and develops account relationships based on defined strategies, managing customer engagements and problem resolution.
  • Monitors competitors' activity with each account and formulates appropriate response strategies.
  • Promotes frame agreements with customers to simplify business processes and represents products across all divisions.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of the customer's business strategy and purchasing behavior.
  • Understands market dynamics and maintains awareness of competitors' activities, formulating response strategies accordingly.
  • Participates with sales management and business unit leadership to develop and execute account plans, delivering insights and connecting experts to customers.
  • Coordinates the use of internal and external resources to introduce meaningful concepts and solutions for customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in sales or business development, particularly in the Transport market.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to evaluate sales efforts and anticipate market changes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while remaining organized and strategic in executing sales account plans.
  • Understanding of customer and company organizational structures with strong business acumen.
  • Experience in sales or business development working with clients in the Transport market.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-related field or Business Administration-oriented programs.
  • Recent experience working with power products and solutions.
  • Experience with SalesForce.Com.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
