About the position

The Account Manager for Hitachi Energy will play a crucial role in driving sales and managing relationships with key Transport customers. This position is responsible for achieving sales targets, managing the sales pipeline, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Account Manager will lead account planning and strategy development, representing the full range of Hitachi Energy's products and services to assigned accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of sales strategies for accounts by providing insights into the customer's current business and long-term plans.
  • Defines and proposes sales targets and growth margins for accounts, ensuring achievement through structured follow-up processes.
  • Manages and achieves overall and business unit-specific sales targets, account coverage, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Leads the development and implementation of account plans, including executive relationship strategies and coverage plans.
  • Establishes and develops account relationships based on defined strategies, managing customer engagements and problem resolution.
  • Monitors competitors' activity with each account and formulates appropriate response strategies.
  • Promotes frame agreements with customers to simplify business processes and represents products across all divisions and business units.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of the customer's business strategy, purchasing behavior, and organizational structure.
  • Understands market dynamics and maintains awareness of competitors' activities, formulating response strategies as needed.
  • Participates with sales management and business unit leadership to develop and execute account plans, delivering insights and connecting experts to customers.
  • Coordinates the use of internal and external resources to introduce meaningful concepts and solutions for customers, including organizing events and trade shows.
  • Enters and maintains relevant sales data into databases and systems, including pipeline management and expense reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in the Transport market.
  • Experience with clients in the Transport market and proven technical selling aptitude.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to evaluate sales efforts and anticipate market changes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while remaining organized and strategic in executing sales account plans.
  • Understanding of customer and company organizational structures, with strong business acumen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-related field or Business Administration-oriented programs.
  • Recent experience working with power products and solutions.
  • Experience with the sales and marketing of Power Distribution products.
  • Familiarity with SalesForce.Com.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer relationship skills and exceptional analytical abilities.
