About the position

The Account Manager for Corporate Life Science Accounts is responsible for managing and expanding the corporate account base within the Life Sciences industry. This role involves strategic account planning, ensuring alignment among sales roles and stakeholders, and driving customer engagement to optimize business outcomes. The Account Manager will work closely with various stakeholders in the Corporate Research Community and Libraries to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty while achieving revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring customer loyalty and satisfaction within the PharmaBiotech Industry by understanding their business, strategy, research needs, and competition.
  • Prospecting and acquiring new accounts while strategically growing and sustaining existing accounts.
  • Continuing strategic account planning to meet or exceed annual revenue targets and ensure long-term growth.
  • Understanding customer needs and delivering a value story to key stakeholders, enhancing their perception of Elsevier's offerings.
  • Leading and driving high-value and complex negotiations collaboratively with sales colleagues.
  • Interacting with various stakeholders at an account to transform the value perception of Elsevier's core offerings.

Requirements

  • Experience calling on corporate institutions selling complex products at the C-level.
  • Experience managing a complex matrix of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience using digital sales automation tools and CRMs.
  • Experience in managing large, complex customers and driving customer engagement in biotech/pharmaceutical/medical device/CRO accounts.
  • High level of motivation with extensive business acumen and strong communication skills.
  • Strategic, consultative selling approach with enthusiasm and energy.
  • College education from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to travel as needed for accounts within the US and/or Canada.
