About the position

The Account Manager at Omni Logistics is responsible for managing domestic shipments, ensuring compliance with customer instructions, and coordinating with the operations team to provide efficient freight forwarding services. This role involves negotiating rates, tracking cargo movement, and maintaining communication with customers throughout the shipping process.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, quote, enter, direct, and monitor domestic shipments
  • Ensure all customer instructions are entered into the system
  • Ensure necessary shipment milestones are present and in correct order
  • Work with operations team to determine routing for required service level
  • Negotiate rates with vendors and request spot quotes
  • Accrue vendor costs and resolve any variances
  • Send invoices to customers
  • Ensure freight and documentation meet security, TSA, and company compliance programs
  • Track and monitor the entire process of cargo movement and keep customers updated on movement details
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Five (5) years freight forwarding operations or account management experience preferred
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of transactions
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate efforts with other organizations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Team oriented
