About the position

As an Account Manager at TDS Telecommunications, you will be responsible for managing and growing an existing customer base while also acquiring new business accounts within a defined market. This role emphasizes customer retention, revenue growth, and the delivery of tailored solutions to meet client needs. You will engage in both proactive and reactive customer interactions, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty while driving sales through effective prospecting and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing account base by regularly contacting accounts and acting as their resource for sales negotiations.
  • Actively manage moves, adds, and changes (MACD) to the existing customer accounts to ensure retention and reduce market churn.
  • Provide education on the industry, technology, and TDS products and services to customers.
  • Focus on market share growth by prospecting and selling to new businesses.
  • Identify, contact, and build relationships with prospective customers through cold calls, networking, and referrals.
  • Build customer solutions, propose, and close sales to meet or exceed sales and revenue growth goals.
  • Create proposals, write, and submit accurate and timely new orders following the established sales process.
  • Develop a tactical sales plan for prospecting, customer growth, and retention to meet sales goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely activity tracking, customer status, and forecasts utilizing the CRM system.
  • Attend industry and trade group meetings and local events to increase corporate visibility and develop industry contacts.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • 2+ years of inside or outside sales experience.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Experience in successful prospecting and generating leads through cold calling.
  • Previous telecommunications experience is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and a winning 'can-do' attitude with a track record of success.
  • Ability to set and attain goals effectively, with a structured work plan.
  • Well organized with good time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Motivation to serve and a genuine interest in helping customers.
  • Comprehensive product and application knowledge to resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Strong passion to sell and succeed, with mastery of sales processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.
