About the position

The Account Manager at Michelli Weighing & Measurement is responsible for managing customer relationships and driving sales growth within an assigned territory. This role involves promoting and selling industrial scales, weighing systems, and measurement equipment while ensuring adherence to quality management standards. The Account Manager will engage with customers, provide product demonstrations, and follow up on sales leads to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customers and prospects in the assigned territory.
  • Conduct sales marketing, promotion, and follow-up activities to generate sales.
  • Meet sales goals set by the sales manager or supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System objectives.
  • Greet walk-in customers with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate equipment to end-users when necessary.
  • Prepare sales quotations via various communication methods.
  • Make cold calls to potential customers.
  • Follow up on company or factory provided sales leads.
  • Provide feedback to G.T. Michelli regarding safety, products, competitors, and markets.
  • Attend sales training sessions.
  • Travel within a 100-mile radius of the office as required.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for sales personnel.
  • Work beyond the standard 40-hour work week as necessary.
  • Assist service personnel with installations when needed.
  • Utilize a CRM system to log customer data.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience in industrial sales is preferred.
  • Military training is a plus.
  • Familiarity with system/value-added selling is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of electronic and mechanical concepts.
  • Ability to read and understand sales equipment specifications and technical manuals.

  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing sales role.
