About the position

The Account Manager at Hugh M. Cunningham, Inc. is responsible for driving sales and generating leads within a designated territory in Texas. This role involves building and maintaining customer relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and collaborating with the Inside Sales team to deliver value to clients. The position requires a proactive approach to identify new business opportunities and support existing customers effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Travel throughout assigned territory to develop new business from existing customers and actively seek new sales opportunities from prospective customers.
  • Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.
  • Identify leads and educate prospects on products through calls, meetings, and demonstrations.
  • Provide existing customers with exceptional support.
  • Track all sales activities in the company's reporting system and keep account information current.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal departments to facilitate customer needs and provide timely resolutions.
  • Display and demonstrate products and their features.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sales or marketing preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of Outside Sales experience in a related industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in the use of technology (computer/tablet).
  • Familiar with mobile applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective closing skills.
  • Motivation for sales and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking, reading, and writing) preferred.
  • Experience in Plumbing, HVAC, Fire and Water Works, or Irrigation.
