About the position

The Account Manager at TEGNA Inc. is responsible for managing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with advertisers across various platforms. This role involves supporting Account Executives in post-sale activities, tracking campaign fulfillment, and collaborating with various departments to meet client needs. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to assigned Account Executives on post-sale activity including campaign implementation, maintenance, and review.
  • Daily interaction with existing advertising agencies and direct clients, maintaining client schedules on television and digital, and implementing special projects and promotions.
  • Work in tandem with Account Executives, Marketing Director, Research Director, and Creative Services to support client needs.
  • Attend sales meetings and trainings to gain product and process information and keep abreast of company offerings.
  • Partner with designated Account Executives in identifying new revenue opportunities based on campaign results.
  • Assist Account Executives with maintenance of contracts, generating avails, traffic, make-goods, collection, and overall customer service.
  • Regularly track clients' audience delivery using ratings, impressions, and campaign fulfillment metrics.
  • Coordinate with the team to set up new customer accounts, contracts, order entry, and revisions.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of account management experience in a professional, fast-paced media sales environment.
  • Track record of successfully retaining and growing clients.
  • Knowledge of marketing solutions including broadcasting and digital advertising is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and advertising solutions is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience using CRM systems and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently to support customer needs.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work as a team player.
  • Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and adaptability to change with evolving priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
