About the position

The Account Manager at AAA Environmental Industries Inc. is responsible for promoting and selling solid waste services to businesses and industrial establishments within an assigned territory. This role involves identifying new market areas, maintaining relationships with current customers, and developing strategies to outperform competitors. The Account Manager will prepare sales contracts, manage customer needs, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell solid waste services to businesses and industrial establishments.
  • Identify new market areas and maintain current customer relationships.
  • Prepare sales contracts with knowledge of pricing, costs, and equipment.
  • Aggressively solicit orders from current and prospective customers.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with customers and assess their needs.
  • Compile and manage lists of prospective customers in the ACT database.
  • Penetrate new and existing market areas to maintain and increase sales.
  • Develop knowledge of branch/regional profit and loss components and dynamics.
  • Provide price quotes and credit terms to potential customers.
  • Consult with Sales Manager or Facility/General Manager on pricing deviations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in sales presentations to major accounts.
  • Maintain awareness of competitor activities and assist in identifying price increases for substandard accounts.
  • Perform waste stream analysis and participate in business-related meetings and civic organizations.
  • Act as a liaison between large customers and the municipal/governmental sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Knowledge or experience in the solid waste industry is desired.
  • Two to three years of sales experience with thorough knowledge of sales techniques.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
